Hi, guys, hope you are alright and feeling spring already! I had to make some ID photos recently and thought of applying my makeup on camera, as this seems a subject that would interest quite a few girls out there. Basically you can do it for any type of “official” pictures, like at school, office or any kind of documents. The general ideas are: stay away from shimmer, define brows and eyelashes, use natural colors, keep it simple!
To highlight my tips and suggestions, here’s the difference from no makeup to strategically applied makeup (my ID pic):

This is a shoot initiated by myself, so thank you to Marieke and Paulien for responding, on the boyish theme that I was intrigued to put into life. I know it’s not a look that is widely asked for, so it was a chance to experiment and a challenge to do a makeup that is both pretty & manly, but natural-looking. I didn’t cake up the makeup, but at the same time created a seamless finish with the least of product, contoured a lot (but not in the usual girly manner) and straightened up her brows more. Didn’t use blush or mascara (actually a very thin layer). We also did the styling by ourselves with very little from our boyfriends’ closets
We worked as a team and collaborated to create this set of lovely pictures:

I thought to suggest a makeup look for a night out in the club for the girls that want to incorporate both smokey eyes and eyeliner, as I think this is the sexiest night look. I used shimmery shadows for the lids, but be careful not to overdose on it, as you really need matte products to balance the look (my highlighter and darkest shadow are both matte or at least with very little shine). A good tip for this look is to keep in mind that you need everything to stay in place, so you can use primers and also setting products, which help with it. My last tip is using blotting tissues (sheets/paper) instead of powder to absorb sweat or excess sebum during the night. They are very compact and so easy to use! You can find them at some brands, like The Body Shop, Artdeco, Shiseido, Sephora, etc.
Here’s sort of before&after, with half of my face done and half au naturel and I think the difference is so evident, not to say I don’t like my natural look though!
Products used on the eyes:
Urban Decay Primer Potion
Urban Decay The Vice Palette: Provocateur, Rapture, Desperation, Anonymous, Black Market.
Bourjois Khol black pencil
